What is concept shoes?

Concept shoes is the shoes cannot be wear on normal occasion, just like batman car. Batman car can only drive in the film but not on the road. Same as concept shoes, just for cat walk. Therefore, ‘concept’ shoes are for visual not for wear.

Visual is the main point of the concept shoes, therefore, concept shoes can be very weird and unique. Lady Gaga, a famous American singer/song writer/actress who influence the whole earth and has many pairs of concept shoes. In my mind, she is a artist who can promote art to around the world and change the artistic to modern. If she was’t a signer she could be a very successful and famous fine artist.

Back to the mutton, there have one company called United Nude is shoes brand which design by multiple of architecture, therefore the shoes designing is way more different between the normal shoes. Certainly, there also produce some commercial shoes.
The founder of the company called Galahad Clark who is a seventh generation shoemaker form Somerset, England. He learned the family trade working summers on production lines for Clark’s shoes in Northampton and Italy. As a Morehead Scholar he studied Chinese and Anthropology at the University of North Carolina. He founded ‘Students 4 Students International’ a humanitarian organization project to benefit students in Africa. In 2002 he took over the Terra Plana shoe brand which he has run ever since. And the Co-founder of United Nude Rem D Koolhass is a Dutch architect trained at the Technical University of Delft in Holland. 

United Nude was launched in 2003 with the Möbius shoe. Under Rem’s creative leadership United Nude has become the worlds top expert in technically advanced / architectural ladies footwear. Nine consecutive Haute Couture runway shoes with Iris Van Herpen, Lady Gaga’s Fame shoes and the Nova Shoe by Zaha Hadid are some of United Nude’s recent highlights. With over 10 years of experience in 3D printing, United Nude is now a regular collaborator with 3D printing market leader 3D Systems. United Nude has flagship stores in Amsterdam, London and New York, which have all been designed by Rem D.

Flames

Zaha Hadid is an architect who has his own studio in London. Flames is informed by the flickering light of the fire, the Flame shoes is the most recent collaboration between Hadid and United Nude. Flame-like bands originate from the point of the heel, rising upwards to gently embrace the foot, while the ergonomically optimized foot bed provides comfort and support.The sculptural sensibility and experimentation of Hadid’s architectural language and United Nude’s expertise in manufacturing the most innovative designs has embodied the shoe with the essence of fire – delicate and ephemeral, yet compelling and dynamic.

I like the shoes even I am a man, it looked very wild and elegant. The flames around the shoes are very representative. It suitable for some special occasion.
